i am still looking for a good SEO plugin for Wordpress. my blog is not ranking high enought for the keywords that i wanted to rank.
Hi Holly,
What SEO plugins have you tried for WordPress?
I find that All-In-One-SEO is about the best there is. If you set up and use this plugin correctly it can produce good results. There are some admin entries you can make when you edit each page or post which don’t take long and can be clearly seen in your admin panel.
There are other good plugins that you can and should be using to enhance SEO. One of those is “Simple Tags” which automates the tagging process. Many SEO advocates have indicated an opinion that tags don’t count for much but I’ve got posts that have not ranked highly for the keyword or post title and yet I have Google page 1 for the tag entry,.. so as far as I’m concerned it definitely does help.
The other major thing you need to consider Holly is how much competition there is for your keyword or phrase. For instance,. if it was “weight loss” then you know you’re competing with 58,600,000 other pages (yes those are actual figures). The thing is that you need to perhaps dig a little deeper for associated keywords around your main competitive keyword until you get one with under 500,000 competing pages. If you target a long tail keyword then its likely you can then compete with less than 100,000 pages or less… in which case Google page 1 is a very realistic expectation and you’d be getting great organic traffic. That’s your goal Holly,.. Google page 1… otherwise forget getting any traffic from the search engines!
Cheers,.. Russ
Hi Pamela @Charleston Real Esate,
thanks for your kind comment.
I’ll be posting more articles on SEO and building backlinks later on. I also will be running a special feature program on how real estate agents can more effectively use Internet marketing and Web2.0 to blitz their local competition and get more sales and listing leads and inspection appointments. This is powerful stuff and the methods are simple,.. laser focused and very inexpensive to apply. Stay tuned!
