About

So this is the page where everyone comes to read some boring bio, hyped up sales pitch or a kind of "LinkedIn.com" CV style rollout of the site owner's shining achievements.

Yes,.. and I admit that my first few drafts of this "About" page resembled a cross-section of all of the above and no matter which way I looked at it I really didn't like what I'd presented even though all of what I'd written was quite factual and some of it even interesting (well I thought so but then again I'm totally biased)

…and on a side note I actually don't like LinkedIn even though a lot of people and business professionals use it,.. it just seems way too much like applying for a job interview when filling in all of their account set up bullshit! And one of the reasons for venturing online in an entrepreneurial spirit was to get away from all of that rigid conformist cubicle mentality in the first place!

Anyway,.. back to my story.

After having had the other "About" page version published for the first few months of the blog I began to realize that I was trying too hard to make it into something rather than having it evolve as was originally the inclination. So just today I've changed the blog slogan or tagline from "Internet Opportunities and Other Things Worth Raving About", to "..because some things are worth the rave!" which is more subtle and a more accurate reflection of my evolving attitude to my blog and blogging in general.

I've also made a post called 27 Random Things About Me which will give further insight into my background a allow you to get to know me a little better , but for now here's some of the basics,…

I live in Chiangmai Thailand which has been voted as being one of the 10 most desirable cities on the planet in which to live (not sure who held that vote because I can't find any reference to it anywhere apart from links back to my own blogs,.. but it sounds right to me and I think it's a good rumour to promote because I have property interests here anyway…he he!)
I'm married to a wonderful Thai lady named Pet and we have two young boys,- Channon aged 4 and Natthan 2, and we have another boy due in May (yes,..I think that'll be enough!). I also have another great 12 year old boy named Brandon who lives with one of my ex-wives (defacto) in Sydney Australia. We see him occasionally but not often enough, although that will soon be changing so we'll be seeing a lot more of him. His mum don't argue (mainly because we never talk to each other ) and he's doing well in junior high school and is a well behaved boy for his mum.
Born in Manchester England (go Manchester United FC.) to Bristish parents but spent most of my life growing up and living in Australia. My mum & dad moved around a bit and as a result I saw a bit of the world and went to 11 different schools in England/Australia/England over a 10 year period before graduating into the school of life at age 16. So I'm officially an Anglophile Aussie expat that now lives in Thailand (see more details item 5).
I'm a WordPress fan and although I'm not a php coding or WP-codex expert, I do consider myself to be a kind of genius theme and admin hacker. Yes,.. I have created some Wordpress themes and hacked many others and then completely ruined twice as many again whilst I was learning the ropes!
I'm an ex real estate agent and love to dabble with property and stand on the sidelines just watching the wheels go round (thanks John Lennon) and observing all the self proclaimed schmexperts and analysts deliberate on whats hot and what's not and on which side of the planet the sun will rise tomorrow morning!
I love music and love to play my guitar everyday (the joys of working from home), and someday would like to set up a home studio and buy a few more gadgets including an electric piano ,synthesizer digital rythm machine to drive the neighbors and my wife crazy with.

OK,.. that's it for now,.. even though there's lot's more intriguing juicy, controversial stuff that I'm just dying to tell you about me. You'll have to wait until I post my list of "Randon things about me",.. the first 25 things will be posted free, but the following 25 (the juicy stuff) will be for paid subscribers only,……. only kidding… ha ha!
