Russell,
We have some similar interests and attitudes.
Great post!
But now I feel like i haven’t started in life yet!
Eight children with three women! I have never been married, have no children and don’t currently even have a woman.(Well I have been corresponding with a beautiful girl on the other side of the planet for two and a half years but have been unable to go and meet her yet – much to her frustration!)
And you are younger than me!
I better get started!
(Maybe I will call in to Thailand on the way to/from Russia.
I have only previously been to Bangkok – the rural/provincial areas would probably be much more to my liking.)
Tea! I was a tea ADDICT for 35 years. I used to carry around stainless steel flasks of tea (4 litres) with me everywhere I went. I even used to keep flasks of tea alongside my bed so I could drink it first thing in the morning before having to get up. I was seriously addicted to tea. But now I have had only a few sips of tea in the last two and a half years. (No, I have not taken up drinking coffee!)
I am not a fan of Christianity but I have very healthy respect for Jesus of Nazareth as a man. But his followers have caused the world much pain and anguish.
I would have to also admit to being “anti-establishment-arian”.
I agree with you about Australian government mentality and lawyers. (I won’t go on – I will only upset myself!)
I was into surfing and playing guitars many years ago but now I don’t live by the ocean and I play flutes and harmonicas more than guitar.
I had a similar reaction to you on discovering that Santa Claus was not real. I completely stopped trusting my parents after discovering that they had been lying to me all my life. IF I ever have children they will not be lied to about Santa Claus or anything else.
I also have an interest in languages. I speak some Japanese and a little Korean but I am not good at “tonal” languages like Thai. It took me three days to get “thankyou” right in Mandarin when I was in Taipei. I recently tried to start learning Russian. To me Russian is a nightmare.
I spent some time in Japan in healing arts and zazen meditation dojos not martial arts. I have a serious interest in health.
Thanks for the interesting post Rusell!
(I better go and work out if I am going to buy your Wordpress WSO)
Wayne.
P.S. After reading your two WSO’s I was intellectually convinced that you were Australian, but my intuition said you were British. I was both right! (There was no way you could have been American!)
Wayne Cochrane´s last blog ..Beginning! 1.1.10 Hello! Welcome!
Great comments Wayne,
thanks for your detailed responses which I’m sure my readers will also find interesting!
Seems we have a lot in common apart from the fact that we’re both Aussies.
Hey,.. who’s your favorite Aussie blogger?… for me it’s Yarro Starak!
Russ
PS,… I highly recommend a stopover in Thailand if you’re going to Russia,.. and please come and see us in Chiangmai so we can show you around a bit.
PPS.. be careful of the Russian women,… Thai women are a MUCH better proposition in my view (send me an email/contact if you want me to explain why).
